for developing and leading a cohesive program-wide control approach
in scheduling, finance, contracts, cost management, risk analysis
and assessment, operational procedures, program information and
document control. This Project Controls Manager will manage the
controls for the BHS project for United Airlines in Chicago. This
position will be required to work from United's office at O'Hare
International Airport (ORD) 3 days a week and remotely for 2 days a
week.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop systems and procedures for
control functions at onset of the project to facilitate the project
monitoring processesCoordinate with clients and Project Leaders on
project control documents and program supportDevelop and improve
project controls systemsRecommend improvements in systems, tools
and methods of project controls and project managementEnsure field
project/document controls, policies and procedures and reporting
systems are fully developed and implemented by designated
personnelManage, revise, and maintain status of the detailed
project cost estimate/forecast to include all phases and project
executions from design/engineering, material/equipment procurement
and deliveries, and construction contracts through start-up
activities to close-outManage project insurance requirements and
certifications of insurance (COI) for vendorsTrack and analyze
project costs including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals and
forecastsCoordinate with senior project management staff to manage
overall project cost control effortsProduce forecasts of total
project costs, annual costs and monthly cash flow costs and provide
variance analysisPerform other duties as
required/directedRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Construction,
Engineering, Finance/Accounting, or equivalent work experience5-10
years of relevant experienceExperience working at an airport is
preferredAbility to obtain and maintain an airport badgeExperience
with federal grants is preferredStrong cost management, budget
tracking, and reporting skillsProven experience collecting invoices
and other related materials, cross checking for compliance, and
processingStrong organizational skills and ability to
multi-taskSelf-sufficient and driven with proven ability to
continue progress on one deliverable as materials for other
deliverables are submittedProven experience developing budgets,
cash flows and/or schedulesAbility to work with outside vendors to
obtain necessary documentation for complianceAbility to work
independently towards monthly deadlinesAbility to balance multiple
priorities, work under pressure and communicate effectively in a
team environment and meet deadlinesEvidence of a high level of
ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters
of significanceStrong oral and written communication skillsClear
analytical approach to problem-solving and strong decision-making
abilitiesExperience with Microsoft suite, Adobe, and
