Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Registered Nurse (RN) with operating room experience is needed for a contract position based in Middleton, WI. This role involves providing perioperative nursing care across a variety of complex surgical specialties including ENT, ophthalmology, and plastics. The position offers a dynamic schedule, working 12-hour shifts with day/evening hours, Monday through Friday, plus weekend call responsibilities. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver patient care in the operating room - Coordinate surgical case progression and facilitate efficient turnover between cases - Ensure safe, competent, and efficient care aligned with policies and standards for patients with varying complexity - Float between units or locations within the organization as staffing needs dictate Qualifications: - Current Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from the permanent address state - BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association - Minimum of two years acute care nursing experience within the last three years - Ability to work in a fast-paced operating room environment utilizing advanced surgical equipment and microscopes Location Details:This position is located at a Magnet-designated hospital, recognized as Wisconsins top-ranked and a nationally respected teaching and referral center. Situated in Madison, WI, the hospital offers extensive parking options (permit required for onsite parking) and access to public transportation including buses and park & ride facilities. Schedule: - 12-hour shifts from 09:40 to 22:10 - Monday through Friday with weekend call duties This contract assignment requires that the nurses permanent residence is within 50 miles of the primary work location.
