qualified Neuro RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Job Title:

Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active IL license
Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma experience -
Previous travel experience (no first-time travelers) - Experience
working on a dedicated neuro unit - Heparin drip experience
Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Neuro
Med-Surg Acute setting. The unit has a total of 54 beds, which
includes semi-private rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5
during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts. Common diagnoses
include strokes, spinal surgery, seizures, brain tumors, head
injuries, various neurological conditions, and some medical
overflow. RNs are required to initiate and titrate drips,
specifically Heparin drips based on PTT. A charge nurse is
available 24/7 but does not take an assignment unless staffing
requires it. A house supervisor is also present 24/7. Patient care
technicians are available on the unit with ratios of approximately
1:9-10 during days, 1:9-10 during evenings, and 1:10-12 at night.
RNs may troubleshoot respiratory equipment but generally do not
manage high-flow oxygen. Telemetry is house-wide, and nurses are
not required to read strips as Phillips monitors are used. The
scheduling consists of 12-hour shifts, with an expectation of
working every other weekend and holiday. Floating may occur in
rotation with the rest of the staff, where travelers may float to
general units. Scrubs do not require a specific color, but tattoos
must be covered while on duty, and only ear piercings are
permitted. Orientation will cover computer training, unit-specific
knowledge, and patient care procedures with a preceptor. 5 Benefits
