Job Description:
Overview Under general supervision of the school registered
nurse, oversee workflow of day-to-day duties of the school health
office; perform direct patient care, complete timely documentation,
ensure the daily health needs of students are met efficiently and
safely. Promote student wellness and optimize a positive learning
environment for students and staff. Responsibilities will vary
according to the school health program and the school's medical
needs. Qualifications Certifications: Certified Clinical Medical
Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA);
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical
Assistants (AAMA); Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) - National
Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); Basic Life Support (BLS)
within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Nationally
Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National
Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); Registered Medical
Assistant (RMA) (AMT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT);
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (ARMA) - American Registry of
Medical Assistants (ARMA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AAH)
- American Allied Health (AAH), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED, Work
Experience: 1 year clinical experience Responsibilities Clinical
Excellence/Patient Care • Serve as the primary point of contact for
students needing health assistance and maintains good working
relationships with students, parents, staff members, and
administration. • Provide routine health services to students
within the CMA scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs,
administering prescribed medications, and documenting care provided
and reporting illnesses/injuries to parents and the school nurse as
warranted. • Support the management of chronic health conditions
(e.g. diabetes, asthma, severe allergies, seizure disorders) by
following individual health plans and emergency action plans. •
Manage and maintain accurate student immunization and health
records for school compliance. Reports all non-compliance cases to
registered nurse and/or building principal in a timely manner. •
Enter and maintains accurate student health information in the
computerized student information management system. • Participate
in health plans, staff trainings, and emergency drills. • Provide
prompt, adequate, and competent first aid services for students as
needed. • Prepare and/or performs health screenings as assigned
Physical Environment of Care • Ensure the health office is
well-maintained and functional. • Possess knowledge about the
safety policies of the school health program, as well as the
established policies and procedures of the organization and the
school district. • Actively participates in cleaning and
disinfecting the health office. • Collaborate with school
registered nurse to ensure continuity of care and escalation of
complex needs. • Determine the impact of contagious illnesses and
acting to prevent the spread of communicable diseases in the school
setting. • Assist in the development and implementation of
individualized health plans and emergency action plans under nurse

Benefits The compensation range for this position is $18.33per hour
- $29.69per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
