From administering targeted treatments to collaborating with oncology professionals, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based care and compassionate support to patients undergoing radiation therapy. What You'll Need: • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program • ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification • Valid Iowa Radiation Therapy state license or permit to practice • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist, preferably in an oncology or hospital setting • Experience operating linear accelerators and treatment planning verification processes Minimum Requirements (Client Specific) • ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification required. • Valid Iowa Permit to Practice or state license required. • BLS certification required. • Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist, with hands-on experience using linear accelerators and immobilization devices. • Experience verifying treatment plans and coordinating with radiation oncologists and dosimetrists. • Ability to document treatments accurately in electronic medical record systems. • Preferred: Experience in a hospital-based radiation oncology department. Preferred: Familiarity with modern treatment planning and imaging verification workflows. Assignment Details Facility type: Hospital. Primary specialty: Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology. Shift: Days. Shift hours: 07:30–16:00. Shift days: Days (weekday schedule). Assignment length: 13-week assignment. Start timeframe: April 2026 start window. Additional Duties: • Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators. • Accurately position patients and ensure proper immobilization during treatment. • Verify treatment plans, dosage calculations, and daily setup with the oncology team. • Monitor patients for immediate adverse reactions during and after therapy and escalate concerns per protocol. • Document treatments, machine parameters, and patient responses in the electronic record. • Participate in departmental quality assurance and safety checks.
