technologies and introducing applicable technologies to OSI.--
Serve as the technical consultant to the R&D organization and
provide technical knowledge to OSI organization.-- --Be the subject
expert in supporting strategic customers' initiatives.-- Be
responsible for managing all phases of product development projects
as assigned.-- Lead function team in managing and coordinating
product development activities.-- Success in this role requires
technical strength in food chemistry and ingredient functionality
and ability to leverage experience, science and collaboration
providing added value to OSI products.-- Good communication skills
are required of this position, as extensive internal and external
customer interface is needed.--Identify opportunities to drive top
line business growth via new and improved food technologies,
processes or ingredients.Provides technical and scientific
expertise to other R&D associates utilizing lab bench, pilot
plant and manufacturing facilities, for new product development,
yield and quality improvements, ingredient substitutions for cost
reduction and product improvement, product line extension and
applied technology.Provide technical support to the OSI key new
product initiatives and global customers.-- Offer food and meat
science training classes to OSI team members through group and
individualized training.-- Manage OSI scientist ingredient and
technology training provided by key suppliers.Both develop and lead
new product development projects through product development
process.Team with other cross functional departments (Sales,
Manufacturing, Culinary, Engineering, Quality, Process Improvement,
etc.) to provide technical leadership and support as a member of
Product/ Project Team.Perform product development in bench, pilot
and plant operations levels meeting the product development needs
of the projects.Provide technical guidance and solutions during
cross functional team meetings bringing projects to
commercialization.Recommend, proactively, new concepts or
prototypes consistent with latest product trends.Provide reports to
business teams regarding both tactical plans and achievements.--
Serves as OSI representative to selected industry scientific
organizations related to meat and food processing.Promote OSI core
values.Perform other duties as assigned.--Required SkillsA PhD in
Meat Science/Food Science with 7 year of experience in developing
meat, meat analogues, plant based proteins, dairy or other food
categories.-- --Ability to Multi-task. Should possess strong
interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management
skills.Strong practical knowledge of food ingredients, their
functionality, product formulas, processing and manufacturing.
Familiar with in USDA/FDA regulations and standards. --Experience
with New Product Development Processes and Protocols.Demonstrated
experience as a creative thinker, processing problem solving skills
and ability to work via cross functional teams.Should operate under
limited supervision, ability to make independent decisions that
expedite projects from concepts to commercialization.Proficient in
use of both on-line work systems and product development software
tools.Candidate must be willing to traveling up to 30% of time.OSI
