Live Chat Advisor - Elgin, IL

Job Description:

The live chat advisor is responsible for responding to and conversing with all incoming chats via the university live chat system in a timely and professional matter. The LCA will answer all chats for campuses and provide support through a student-centered philosophy that supports the achievement of the University?s goals and objectives. You will also offer support in contacting prospective and current students to assist them at any stage of the student life cycle, which may include phone, live chat, or emailed communication.



Duties/Responsibilities


.? Generate inquires and set appointments for the Admissions department through multiple methods including by engaging prospective students


? Promptly identify, research, and resolve inquiry requests using the marketing website and product knowledge provided by the University.


? Project a professional company image on behalf of our University through live chat interaction.


? Participate in meetings/trainings within the company to assist in ongoing advancement as an individual as well as a team


. ? Provide customers with resources to help address their concerns or direct them to the appropriate department.


? Assisting with contacting currently enrolled students in need of assistance, follow up, or other class preparation task as required by the needs of the students and organization.


? Ensure metrics and other performance goals are met


? Conducts interviews with prospective students. Evaluates the prospective student?s needs, interests and qualifications while providing clear and concise information to help the prospective student make an informed decision to attend or not attend the school.


Presents information regarding the school?s programs and tuition in a factual and ethical manner.


? Professionally assists prospective students through the admissions process in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations, school policies and procedures, and in compliance with all accrediting standards and requirements.


? Presents information in a factual and ethical manner regarding the school?s programs and tuition.



Required Skills


? Basic computer skills ? experience with Microsoft (WORD, Excel, Outlook) preferred


? Demonstrable organizational and time management skills ? ability to multi-task


? Possesses verbal communication skills, particularly telephonic and excellent written communication skills.


? Persistence combined with a positive attitude and approach to work and others ? self-motivating work style


? Becomes familiar with and learns to discuss the merits of specific school programs, developing the ability to match a prospective students needs to the correct program fit.



Required Experience


? BS/BA preferred, Prefer a minimum of 6 months experience in an admissions environment
